چکیده

Image distortion induced by the relative motion between an observer and the scene is an important cue for recovering the motion and the structure of the scene. It is known that the distortion in images can be described by transformation groups, such as Euclidean, a ne and projective groups. In this paper, we investigate how the moments of image curves are changed by group transformations, and we derive a relationship between the change in image moments and the invariant vector elds of the transformation groups. The results are used to formalise a method for extracting invariant vector elds of a ne transformations from changes in the moments of orientation of curve segments in images. The method is applied to realtime robot visual navigation task.

Contourlet-Based Edge Extraction for Image Registration

Image registration is a crucial step in most image processing tasks for which the final result is achieved from a combination of various resources. In general, the majority of registration methods consist of the following four steps: feature extraction, feature matching, transform modeling, and finally image resampling. As the accuracy of a registration process is highly dependent to the fe...

Special issue on feature-oriented image and video computing for extracting contexts and semantics

Researchers have been extracting features and designing applicable vision systems for more than 30 years, and the majority of these efforts focused on how to design features (i.e., feature space construction) for image and video representation, and how to build effective mapping from the original features to the semantic labels of the image or video data (i.e., feature extraction or classifier ...

Recovering ball motion from a single motion-blurred image

Motion blur often affects the ball image in photographs and video frames in many sports such as tennis, table tennis, squash and golf. In this work we operate on a single calibrated image depicting a moving ball over a known background, and show that motion blurred ball images, usually unwelcome in computer vision, bear more information than a sharp image. We provide techniques for extracting s...

A Surf-color Moments for Images Retrieval Based on Bag-of- Features

An important research issue in multimedia databases is the retrieval of similar objects. Most of the Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system uses the low-level features such as color, texture and shape to extract the features from the images. In Recent years the Interest points are used to extract the most similar images with different view point and different transformations. SURF is fast ...
